Physical Therapy Foot & Ankle Treatment
Foot & ankle injuries are common, from a dislocated ankle to an Achilles tendon rupture. These injuries are most commonly known to occur in sports. Although, not all foot & ankle injuries happen due to sports-related activities. It’s also typical to injure yourself while performing everyday activities. So, the most important thing after experiencing an injury is foot & ankle treatment.
After being diagnosed, the first step to recovery is usually physical therapy. However, at times due to the severity of the injury, additional methods may not be useful. If your physician suggests physical therapy as the first step in your recovery, we are here to help!
At your first physical therapy session, the licensed physical therapist will determine the right exercises and treatment plan. And will go forward with full recovery of your foot & ankle injury. Our physical therapy center at Spine & Orthopedic Center offers equipment with comfortable space and different methods for optimal healing.
Our physical therapists will first go over your imaging and your physician’s notes. Then, they will determine the best treatment plan for you. Your physical therapist will then customize a treatment plan. This plan may include passive physical therapy, such as manual physical therapy, ice packs, heat application, and electro-stimulation. Then, your therapist will begin to incorporate active physical therapy into your sessions. Active physical therapy includes stretches and exercises for strengthening the injured area.
