Physical Therapy Hip Treatment

Hip pain can be so difficult, it can even affect our daily lives. A simple walk around the room can aggravate a bothersome hip. However, the good news is physical therapy can do wonders as a hip treatment and is the perfect first step to recovery.

When experiencing hip pain, there are many different options for recovery but physical therapy is a great start. Physical therapy by Spine &; Orthopedic Center offers many different hip treatment options for hip pain. First, your therapist will take steps to evaluate your injury. Next, they will go over your images and any doctor notes if they are available to create the proper treatment plan for your lifestyle.

Your physical therapist will customize your hip treatment plan, which may include passive physical therapy such as manual physical therapy, ice packs, heat application, and electro-stimulation. Next, he/she will begin to incorporate active physical therapy into your sessions. Thereafter, your physical therapist will incorporate active physical therapy into your sessions. Active physical therapy includes exercises and stretches for strengthening the area that is injured.

My dad is 73 and has no cartilage in his right hip. He is slightly overweight, but rides his bike between 18-20 miles about 3-4 days a week. His hips started really bothering him after he started the longer rides. Is there anything you can you to help him? It’s the only thing that gives him some relief after my mother’s passing.
    Thank you so much
    Rachel
